Welcome to February, where things are beginning to pivot in your life. In the spring of 2017, the Lord gave me a word that it would be a “season of pivot,” or a pivotal season. Recently, the Lord began to remind me of this word.
The amazing thing about prophetic words is they are multi-dimensional. There are some words that are time or season sensitive, but most prophetic words have layers of fulfillment. That’s why you can write a prophetic word in your journal, go back and read it, and it will hit your spirit differently or breathe new life into you. Prophetic words have dimensions and realms. Often times we only scratch the surface of walking out our prophetic words.
The “Hinge” Month
I don’t always receive or seek prophetic words for each month, but as I was praying about February I heard the Lord say, “This will be a very pivotal month.” This is a “hinge” month that will set the course for the rest of the year. “Pivotal” is defined as “of crucial importance in relation to the development or success of something else” (Oxford Dictionary of English).
It’s really important to pay attention to the Spirit’s leading this month, and the impressions, dreams, visions that He is showing you. He’s revealing opportunities, showing you who will go with you and who will not go with you on the next leg of your journey.
The Greater the Tension, the Further the Launch
I sense many have felt a little restless coming into the new year because it seems like not much is going on in the natural, but there is much going on in the spirit realm. I see that God has pulled you back to keep you hidden and to position you to launch.
Isaiah 49:2 TPT says, “…He hid me and protected me in the shadow of His hand. He prepared me like a polished arrow and concealed me in His quiver.” The tension and the pressure you’ve been feeling is the tension of the pull back. The pressure is producing a greater measure of oil for you to carry into what’s next. The greater the tension on the bow, the greater and further the launch will be. Stay positioned in the Father’s hand, launch time is coming soon.
It’s a Daniel 2:22 Season
This month is very strategic and must be navigated with wisdom. There has been a lot of focus on 2, 22, 222. It’s a Daniel 2:22 season: “He reveals deep and hidden things; He knows what is in the darkness, and the light dwells with Him.” There is fresh revelation for you in this season. The Lord has a revelation and strategy for you to outmaneuver the enemy and be successful.
In the year of the mouth, “outmaneuver” means “to outdo, defeat, or gain an advantage over by skillful or clever maneuvering” (Merriam Webster Dictionary). It’s important to stay close to the mouth of the Lord to see and hear what He has for you.
Proverbs 2:6 declares, “For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” The Hebrew word for wisdom here is “chokmah.” It means “skill in war, wisdom in administration.” “Knowledge,” here in the Hebrew, means “skill” and “perception.” And “understanding” in the Hebrew is “tabuwn,” meaning “intelligence, insight, teacher.”
Wisdom, knowledge, and understanding are vital to help you navigate your season and avoid the traps of the enemy. As you adhere to the Lord’s wisdom, it will release new skills and a spiritual intelligence you’ve not had before. It’s time to update your spiritual intelligence and strategies; last decade’s won’t do.
Get Ready to Pivot
As a former basketball player, the Holy Spirit began to talk to me about the importance of a pivot. A pivot is “a pin, point, or short shaft on the end of which something rests and turns, or upon and about which something rotates or oscillates.” (dictionary.com). A pivot gives you options. A pivot helps you to outmaneuver the opposition. A pivot changes your direction. The pivot can be a game changer. It’s the pivot that will cause you to cross over into the promise of this season.
As you go down the court of life armed with wisdom (skill), knowledge (intelligence), and understanding to face the opposition before you, be ready for the Lord to call a pivot. As you pivot it enables you to have the opposition on your back. This opens the way for you to cross over and go a new direction, away from the opposition.
The crossover is your secret weapon. A basketball crossover is also known as an “ankle-breaker.” “The crossover is a dribbling technique used to create space between yourself and a defender. It involves faking to one side and getting the defender to follow you before bouncing the ball back over to your other hand. This leaves the defender off balance and out of position, and leaves you open to take a shot, drive the lane, or pass. With enough practice, the crossover can be a deadly offensive weapon” (wikiHow.com).
In the coming days get ready to use your crossover. It’s the ability to be fluid with the things of the spirit. We have to learn to be flexible, be ready to go when Holy Spirit says go, and cross over when He says cross over. Prepare yourself, a pivotal season is upon us!
