I see a fresh understanding of the Kingdom breaking out in this day, a glorious kingdom explosion!

As Kingdom Dwellers, we must be more aware of what is happening in the domain of King Jesus than anywhere else. His Kingdom is both our place of origin and our destination. Kingdom awareness is literally being spiritually–minded!

Romans 8:6 says “To be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace” (KJV). I ran from God for years as a devil–worshipper with death consciousness being my only awareness. I knew of only one realm—the system ruled by the prince of the power of the air—the world system. After I was rocked by a radical encounter with Jesus in 2001, my eyes were opened to a Kingdom that I had never known before. Life! He brought an awareness and a new sense of belonging that felt too good to be true! I became a dweller and a citizen of the most righteous King and Judge in the cosmos.

Gain a Kingdom Revelation

Do you know any Christians that have no peace? Or what about those who struggle with feeling like they don’t have a life? They possibly are missing Kingdom revelation. We all know the world system, and many people know the Bible. However, you can know these things but still not have Kingdom awareness.

Living Kingdom–aware brings the most peace because that’s where Jesus taught us to live!

Many Believers are stuck their whole lives trying to earn something from God when Jesus did all the earning—we only have to do the “owning.” The Kingdom is right here—it is at hand. The Apostle Paul referred to the Gospel as, “His Gospel;” it is that personal—the “owning” of what Jesus has accomplished on our behalf. Many folks are taught to share a belief system, but you might find it quite difficult to share something that you do not own. In order to truly share something with the world, we must own it first! Jesus did the earning; now we do the owning.

Become Citizens of a New Domain

When talking about the Kingdom of God, we need to realize that it is the King–dom or the King’s domain. The reality of the domain of King Jesus and the new creation is that we now live in a realm of the finished work of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:17, Ephesians 2 and Colossians 3). The rest of the world, that wanders in darkness, needs to be told about the amazing gift of becoming Kingdom Dwellers!

When you are a citizen of a kingdom, not only do you practice the customs and cultures of that kingdom, but you possess an authority that comes with the citizenship that differs from other nations or kingdoms. For example, we lived in Alaska for years, and some Native Alaskans do not need a passport to cross into the Yukon of Canada, whereas everyone else does. They have this special perk because of their bloodline.

Let’s look for a moment at the immigration process of the world system. If someone desires to immigrate to a new land, they must go through a checklist of items. First, they need to fill out the necessary papers. Then, they need to pay the related fees. Next, they need to schedule an interview, and the list goes on and on.

The definition of the word “naturalization” is as follows: “The acquisition of citizenship and nationality by somebody who was not a citizen or national of that country when he or she was born.” (Source: Naturalization Law.) One of the most effective and quickest ways to achieve naturalization in the world system is through marriage. Under normal circumstances, you cannot be “grandfathered” into a foreign citizenship. Nor can you freely choose to become a national without paying a price and possibly waiting for years.

Fortunately for us, Jesus paid all of the fees, took care of the interviews and waited thousands of years for our “super naturalization” as Kingdom citizens forever! Not only that, but God the Father put us in perfect union with his Son, which guarantees our status as belonging to this Kingdom now. You’ve been served heavenly adoption papers!

Learning to Live Kingdom Culture

I lived as a missionary in both Spanish and Portuguese countries for years, and I needed to learn the language and customs of those cultures in order to effectively minister to the people. In the same way, we cannot expect to operate in the Kingdom of Jesus without learning the related customs, cultures and language even though we are still living on the earth! We will talk differently. Act differently. Our customs will be different, and this is what transforms cities and regions—thinking and acting like citizens of Heaven.

Colossians 3 states that our lives are hidden with Christ in God, and 2 Corinthians 5:17 says that any man in Christ is a new creation. It is no longer I that lives but Christ in me.

Many times, the “lost” are only told how lost they are instead of being offered a new citizenship with a King who loves them with an everlasting love. The interesting thing about the word “lost” is that it denotes ownership. Something lost belongs somewhere, and it cannot be lost unless it has an origin and a price because it belongs somewhere to someone! As we gain a clearer revelation of the domain of the King and his unfailing love, we will begin to view things through His eyes.

“For who has understood the mind of the Lord so as to instruct Him?” But we have the mind of Christ” 1 Corinthians 2:16 (ESV). This is a cross–reference from Isaiah 40:13 which says: “Who can fathom the Spirit of the LORD, or instruct the LORD as his counselor?” (NIV). What Paul was trying to say is that along with the domain of the King comes the reality of our mind being merged with His! Under the law, no one could understand the mind of the Lord, but under grace, we have been given His very mind. This is the reality of a Kingdom Dweller. Our mind is no longer a battleground for the enemy, but a playground for the Holy Ghost.

We Are Stewards of His Mysteries!

According to 1 Corinthians 4:1, we are stewards of His mysteries! A steward literally means a governor. A kingdom must be in place for us to govern—and that Kingdom is His, and you are a governor of His mysteries on the earth! That being said, we no longer press in for more of what we don’t have but learn all of the rights and perks of the citizenship that we have been granted through Christ Jesus’ Blood!

This allows us to operate under a domain of freedom that the world has never encountered—the King’s domain. A realm of redemption, a realm of redeemed identity, a realm of freedom. A realm of His finished work. We now experience the constant awareness of the realm or domain of Christ’s finished work on the Cross and the fruit that proceeds from that awareness. This is the Kingdom! He put us in position to receive His Kingdom while we were yet sinners (Romans 5:8).

He built it, now we own it! Learning to own is a journey, yes, but a journey of the renewing of the mind. Romans 12:2 says, “Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” As we are transformed, there is an authority that comes out of a constant awareness of the finished work of Christ. This is Kingdom life.

Let Christ’s Love Compel Us

2 Corinthians 5:14 says, “Christ’s love compels us! We are convinced that One died for all, therefore all have died.” Healing doesn’t compel us, crusades don’t compel us, and offerings don’t compel us. In the Kingdom, it’s Christ’s love that compels us! Why? Because His love causes us to realize that everybody has received an invitation into this hidden world, this redeemed world. This realm is liberation from sin, liberation from demonic bondage, liberation from religious bondage—and it begins to spark something in people and awaken them to a fullness in Christ that they never knew!

Romans 8:19 says, “That the whole world is waiting…” for what? For you to manifest Christ so that Christ can be made manifest in them. Their spirit is longing for Christ, the hope of glory—whether they know it or not! In Matthew 10:7 it says, “And proclaim as you go, saying, ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.'”

Just because someone has something at hand does not mean they will utilize all the benefits of it—or even notice it. We need to be intentional about releasing the Kingdom in the overflow of our union with Jesus through His Blood!

If God is pleased to give us everything, how can we not heal the sick, cast out demons and raise the dead?! As a Kingdom Dweller, it’s inevitable. Let His Kingdom come! It is finished.
